McClain and “The Move” Cult

We have recently become aware of Doug’s involvement in a cult called “The Move” His involvement in this cult seems to have begun as a young man when he lived in Alaska. He was advanced to “elder” at the age of 18.  He was instrumental in the “pioneering” and development of the cult’s farm in Dry Creek, Alaska. There is irrefutable evidence not only of longterm past leadership with this cult, but to perpetual, current involvement including criminal cult-related activity and even gaining money from cult members as a “traveling minister”.

The pieces are starting to fall into place- how does one become a wolf in sheep’s clothing? I think we’re beginning to see a broader picture, with so much of his secret past life coming to light.

Here are some links to this cult, which is alive and well in the US and in other countries as well. It’s bone chilling.
–Here is a link to a nonprofit that exists to help people who have been harmed by this cult.

  1. Here’s a little interesting tidbit. I found this link a couple of weeks ago when I first learned that Doug had been in trouble with the law many years ago in Alaska. I emailed the President of this association trying to learn if the Doug McClain his group was involved with is the same as THIS Doug McClain. He claimed not to know.

This area which McClain arranged to purchase in Dry Creek Alaska is owned by the cult.

  2. My husband and I were both at Dry Creek during the timeframe that Doug McClain was at the farm. We actually knew his wonderful mother Muriel in Massachusetts.

Dry Creek and White Stone are very similar….lot of good folks that got led astray. This is all very sad.

  3. This IS the same Doug McClain…
